Tutoring
The Teaching and Learning Center provides the following tutoring resources: small-group, individual, and math and writing labs. All tutors must demonstrate academic excellence by having a high GPA and two faculty recommendations that attest to both subject knowledge and ability to tutor specific courses.
Small-Group Tutoring
Tutors conduct small group sessions with six or fewer students.
The fee is $125 per course per term, and all groups meet two hours
per week. Groups begin week two of the term.
Private Tutoring
The Teaching and Learning Center maintains a tutor database for some University of Oregon courses. Fees range from $9-11 for lower-division courses (100-200 level) and $11-13 for upper-division courses (300 level and above). Arrangements for private tutoring are made by the student with the tutor. Lists of available tutors can be picked up at 68 PLC.
Math and Writing Labs
The Center also provides math
and writing labs. Free tutors are available.
Financial Assistance
Students may be able to receive paid tutoring as active members of the Student Support Services (SSS) program or the Center for Multicultural Academic Excellence (CMAE). Contact these offices directly for more information.
